Hey I have been rejected twice now. Once when I was self employed and just recently even though I do have a stable long term job, family responsibilities, property, investments, a relationship in my home town, preparation for government exams, etc. I have every reason to come back now.

But I think mine got rejected because my answers were too short and I was nervous (I have a bit of social anxiety).

This was the latest interview:-

Me: good morning.
VO: good morning. Please hand me your passport. What’s your purpose of travel?
Me: Tourism.
VO: is there any family member in US?
Me: Yes my brother.
VO: What’s his visa status?
Me: he’s on OPT
VO: what do you do?
Me: I work as XX at YY.
VO: have you traveled internationally before?
Me: No, this will be my first.
VO: are you single or married?
Me: Single

Visa rejected. I was told to keep my answers short and only answer what they ask. Don’t elaborate. Looking back, I think I SHOULD have, at least a little. Any feedbacks for next application?

I’m reapplying within a month because my family is all traveling and I don’t want to be the only one left behind. My brother’s status has changed to F1 now. My sister got her visa.

Bro I too faced a rejection once and  did not bother to apply again but my question to you is that in your application for tourist visa to Europe was there any question about your previous visa rejections and since you had a rejection how did this affect your application. Do previous rejections affect your visa application to Europe.

You can’t create a new application or new DS-160 post biometric. It will screw everything all over. The hotel details are really trivial and don’t really matter during interview. Itinerary can change all the time. Visa officers at the consulate are aware of that fact of life. They may want to see the hotel booking confirmation/receipt only if you have paid for it yourself. Otherwise, the name of the city where the hotel is located, is sufficient enough for them. Just carry the latest and greatest information/documents that you have during interview. No need to email them the information.

Just take the email confirmation for hotel booking when you go for the Visa interview.

Hey! I did the same mistake, I contacted U.S travel docs customer service via chat and they asked me to follow below steps:

To verify the passport number you need to raise a case using Feedback request from your US visa scheduling profile and mention the below information in the case also attach your passport copy.

1. Given name and Last name of the applicant as per the current passport.
2. Passport number as per current passport.
3. Profile UID where the changes are needed.
4. Preferred Embassy/Consulate location where applicant is planning to apply.
5. Mention the required changes on the profile.
6. Reason for incorrect data.
Attach passport bio pages scan copy on the case.

After a day or two, they provided resolution to the case as following: 

We understand that you would like to update your passport number on your profile.

Our records show that a receipt is associated with the name currently on your profile. Please proceed with the scheduled appointments. At the appointment, please inform the Visa Application Center officials about the changes in your profile.

Just to check, if this the passport number WHILE filling up the tiny form for the appointment? and not on DS-160?  
For me that field is grayed out and won't let me put a new passport number at all.

They told me to get old and new passports together for the appointment. Also, same goes for my petition number (I added the old one), so a new DS-160 needs to be created and taken together
